Regina Musical Club - RMC Recital Competition Winner: Graeme Scott, flute
Rental Event
Showtimes
- Sunday, January 4 - 3:00pm
Born in Saskatoon, flutist Graeme Scott has performed across Québec and Saskatchewan. A recent graduate of McGill University, he obtained a Master of Music degree with full scholarship in 2025, studying with Albert Brouwer, associate principal flutist of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. He currently pursues private study with Jocelyne Roy in Montreal. Graeme began studying the flute in Regina at the age of fifteen with Tara Semple and later took lessons with Marie-Noelle Berthelet.
In addition to solo freelancing and teaching, Graeme has performed with groups including the McGill Symphony Orchestra, Hawkesbury Chamber Orchestra, Per Sonatori, Sinfonia de l’Ouest, and the South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra, and alongside artists including soprano Kelly Guerra, and members of the Ensemble Paramaribo, Ensemble contemporain de Montréal, and the Akropolis Reed Quintet. He is a founding member of the Anemone Wind Quintet, composed of recent graduates and young professionals based in Montreal, which was recently hired by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra to perform at the 85th edition of the OSM competition, and has performed in various venues across the city.
Keenly interested in improvisation, electronics, and contemporary music, Graeme performed frequently as principal flute with the McGill Contemporary Music Ensemble and enjoys ongoing collaborations with emerging composers to premiere and record their works. During his time at McGill, he also took advantage of opportunities to study improvisation in all genres with jazz pianists Jean-Michel Pilc and Marianne Trudel.
Tickets are $40 for adults, $35 for seniors, inclusive of fees and taxes. Student tickets are available for free at the door (with Student ID). Seating is not assigned.
