Presented by the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts
Showtimes
- Wednesday, May 31 - 6:30pm
The Conservatory Orchestral Program Showcase is a night to celebrate all of the achievements of orchestral players studying at the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts. The program will start with our youngest performers to our adult players.
Performances for the evening will include the following (in performance order):
The Conservatory Youth Strings Program is a family program for young violinists and cellists ages 3-9. Our youngest group of string players will be showcasing a variety of folk and classical tunes that are sure to delight all. This group is directed by Joel MacDonald (cello), Karley Parovsky (violin), Rudolf Sternadel (violin), and Jonathan Ward (violin). Accompanied by Michael Dymund. Musicianship provided by September Russell.
The Conservatory Youth String Orchestra, directed by Alaina Majewski, is a beginner orchestra for budding string players ages 8-12. This ensemble will be performing a variety of folk and classical songs and are excited to share everything they have been learning this year!
The Regina Community Orchestra and the Conservatory Youth Orchestra, both directed by Adrian Casas, are the highest level orchestras offered at the Conservatory. Both are open to all community members ages 13+ without audition as long as you have some experience in your instrument. The orchestras will be presenting a joint program of folk and classical music.
Tickets are $8 plus tax ($8.40) in advance and $10 plus tax ($10.50) at the door. Price is per seat. Performers will have seats reserved in the audience - do not purchase a ticket for performers. If you are bringing an infant and they will be on your lap for duration of the show, you do not need to purchase a ticket for your infant.
This event is rush seating (first come, first served on performance night). However, please contact the Darke Hall box office (306-523-2753) if you have any accessibility requests, so we can reserve appropriate seats based on your guest's needs.
$1 for every ticket will go to support the Conservatory Education Outreach Fund. This fund is being established to support families with financial need who are interested in enrolling in our programs. Learn more about the fund or donate here: giving.uregina.ca
