Presented by the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts - Rental Event

Showtimes

  • Wednesday, January 15 - 6:30pm

Get ready for three days of singing, dancing, and performing at the Conservatory Musical Theatre Showcase. Students from the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts’ youth musical theatre programs are sure to dazzle and delight the audience with their triple threat status.

Performances on DAY 2 will include the following (in performance order):

Senior Glee (Saturday) presents THE CLAW: A New Children's Musical. When an out-of-order claw game suddenly turns back on, all the toys are ecstatic! Well… all the toys except for Dot, a terrified stuffed cow. Dot’s desperate to hold onto her home and her best friend, Aiden. Can Dot conquer her fear of the unknown with some help from the Flair Bears, Mighty Mutant Power Turtles, Beanie Elders, and the all-knowing Mystical 8-ball? By Denver Casado, Jessica Penzias, Kerry Kazmierowicztrimm, Christyn Budzyna & Jack Mitchell. THE CLAW is presented through special arrangement with Beat by Beat Press (www.bbbpress.com). This group is directed by Karen Rose.

Advanced Glee (Saturday) presents The Ever After - A Musical. Is Ever After REALLY as happy as everyone expected? In this hilarious parody of daytime TV, the host invites Cinderella and her middle-aged ’beauty-impaired’ stepsisters to reconcile with each other after being estranged for 20 years. What about Snow White and the Evil Queen? This hysterical fractured fairy tale has it all: a trash-talking clairvoyant mirror, an unfortunate prince who is turning slowly back into a frog, and even Jiminy Cricket — now an occupational therapist and author. The show is punctuated by questions from obnoxious studio audience members and ridiculously funny infomercials for fairy tale related products. Get ready for some knee-slapping and handclapping with great foot-tapping songs. Book by Nathan Hartswick. Music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur. Produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Denver, Colorado. This group is directed by Karen Rose.

There will be an intermission between Senior Glee and Advanced Glee to reset the stage.
