Conservatory Group Program Showcase - Day 3
Presented by the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts
- Tuesday, December 5 - 6:30pm
The Conservatory Group Program Showcase is a three day event presenting a variety of performances including music, dance, and theatre from both youth and adult students. Participants are studying at the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts in one of our group programs.
On DAY 3 we are excited to present performances from students in our Music & Dance Programs.
Performances for the evening will include the following (in performance order):
The Conservatory Youth Strings Program is a family program for young violinists and cellists ages 3-9. Our youngest group of string players will be showcasing a variety of folk and classical tunes that are sure to delight all. This group is directed by Alaina Majewski (cello), Rudolf Sternadel (violin), and Jonathan Ward (violin). Accompanied by Michael Dymund. Musicianship provided by September Russell.
The Conservatory Campfire Guitar classes teach adult learners how to strum and sing along to your favourite rock, country, and folk songs. Get ready to sing along with our beginner and intermediate groups as they play some tunes that should sound familiar! This group is led by Renée Coghill.
The Contemporary Dance program draws on all the vital elements that go into the training of a dancer with influences from dancers/choreographers Martha Graham and José Limón. Our program is led by dancer and choreographer Karen Rose. Tonight's performance will feature a special performance by Karen Rose accompanied by Joel MacDonald (cello).
Get ready to be transported to Southern Spain with performances from Flamenco Regina. Our flamenco dancers will showcase this dynamic music, song and dance form that is sure to bring the energy up in the theatre! This group is led by Lilia Kusiak and Coreen Dupre, with accompanist by Peter Dickof.
There will be an intermission between the Campfire Guitar and Contemporary Dance performances to reset the stage.
