Presented by the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts - Rental Event
Showtimes
- Wednesday, December 4 - 6:30pm
The Conservatory Group Program Showcase is a multi-day event with performances including music, dance, and theatre from both youth and adult students studying at the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts.
Performances for DAY 3 will include the following (in performance order):
The Conservatory Pipe Band will be showcasing their pipes and drums loud and proud! Be prepared for both familiar and unfamiliar tunes as we transport you to Scotland with a variety of traditional and new repertoire with Regina's only youth pipe band. This group is led by Iain MacDonald, with teaching support from Barbara MacDonald and Laura Schmeling, with assistance from Jenah Healy and Kenna Whelan.
The Conservatory Jazz Combo is an auditioned small jazz ensemble for teens looking to expand their knowledge and skills in jazz musicianship. The group will be presenting a selection of jazz standards and showing off their newly developed improvisation skills. The combo is directed by Trent Reschny.
Get ready to be transported to Southern Spain with performances from Flamenco Regina. Our flamenco dancers will showcase this dynamic music, song and dance form that is sure to bring the energy up in the theatre! These groups are led by Lilia Kusiak and Coreen Dupre. Accompaniment is led by Peter Dickof.
There will be a short break between Conservatory Jazz Combo and Flamenco Regina to briefly reset the stage.
