Dance at Darke Hall: Movement, Music, and Connection

This spring, Darke Hall becomes a space for movement—bringing together artists, organizations, and audiences through a series of performances that explore dance in all its forms.

April 27 & 28

We begin with the Stream of Dance Festival, presented by New Dance Horizons.

SDFest #1 (April 27) features a dynamic lineup of local and guest artists, including Bryn Besse, Caitlin Coflin, Lina Cruz, Lee Frketich, Ashley Johnson, James Kudelka, Sully Malaeb-Prouls, Connor Mitton, Connie Moker Wernikowski, Kana Nemoto, Thomas Oberlin, Edward Poitras, Robin Poitras, Garry Wasyliw, and Youth Ballet Company of Saskatchewan.

SDFest #2 (April 28)—Contes pour la fin du temps—is a powerful collaboration between New Dance Horizons, Regina Musical Club, and Compagnie de la Citadelle.
Set to Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time, performed live by CrossRoute, this work reflects on artistic expression in times of isolation and the connection between circumstance and creation.

May 1

Before our season finale with Delhi 2 Dublin,  the hall comes alive with a pre-show performance by Vibes YQR, a collective of local dancers bringing street styles, freestyle, and high-energy movement into the space.

May 7

Dance continues with Stradivatango, presented by Regina Musical Club.
Featuring cellist Stéphane Tétreault and bandoneon virtuoso Denis Plante, this vibrant concert blends classical music with the rhythm and spirit of tango.

After the performance, the evening shifts into a milonga—a traditional Argentine social dance. The Link transforms into a dance floor, inviting you to step in, watch, or simply take in the atmosphere.

May 24 & 25

We close the series with the Conservatory Showcase.

Led by choreographer Karen Rose, the Contemporary Dance class highlights adult dancers developing strength, alignment, and expressive movement. The program also features Flamenco Regina, led by Lilia Kusiak and Coreen Dupre, with live accompaniment—bringing the energy, rhythm, and passion of flamenco to the stage.

Across these events, dance at Darke Hall becomes more than performance—it’s a shared experience of music, movement, and community.
