Presented by University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts Summer Creative Camps
Showtimes
- Saturday, July 26 - 2:00pm
Get ready for two very special shows presented by the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts Summer Creative Camps.
First up our Senior Glee (ages 8-12) camp will present...
PRESS START! A New Children’s Musical
Music and Lyrics by Denver Casado
Book by Denver Casado & Brian Dawson
PRESS START! transports the audience inside the bright, pixelated world of video games! When the famous characters we know and love run out of lives, they decide to put on a musical fundraiser that will help them raise gold rings and play on. Through hilarious and heartfelt musical numbers, we see the heroes, villains and sidekicks like we’ve never seen them before. But when things go terribly awry, it’s the quiet sidekick Little Mushroom who must find the hero within to help save the day!
Second our Showtime (ages 8-12) camp will present...
Fish Tales
By Beth Ann Powers
Fish is in a pickle. Actually, Fish is in a fishbowl, but she has a major problem — her imagination is broken, and she can’t even think of a single wish. Luckily, Representatives of the IRS (the Imagination Repair Squad) send Fish on an adventurous undersea journey to the Not-Land of Zo. However, the lands are threatened by The Doom, which is sapping all the citizens of their energy and spark. Can Fish and her new friends find their creativity and imagination to conquer The Doom?
PRESS START! is presented through special arrangement with Beat by Beat Press (www.bbbpress.com). Fish Tales is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Denver, Colorado.
All props, costumes, set pieces and more were produced by campers in Behind the Scenes (ages 11-14). These campers will also be assisting backstage and with technical cues during the performance.
All camps were open enrollment with no audition required!
Doors open at 1:30pm. Shows start at 2:00pm (Senior Glee first then Showtime second).
There will be a short intermission between shows to reset the stage. The approximate running time is one hour and thirty minutes.
This performance is free, but reserved tickets are strongly recommended. Rush seating; no assigned seating. Please contact the Darke Hall box office if you have any accessibility requests, so their team can reserve appropriate seats based on your guest's needs. Darke Hall is accessible friendly.
